Privacy Policy

Short version: your files never leave your browser. There is no server of ours that receives, stores, or processes your videos or audio.

How the tool handles your files

• When you choose a file, it is read directly into the page running on your device. Decoding, resampling, and transcription all happen locally, in your browser.
• Nothing you transcribe is uploaded to Captionbench or any third party as part of transcription.
• We have no accounts and no database of your files. Close the tab and everything is gone from our perspective.

The transcription model

The first time you transcribe, your browser downloads the transcription model (about 40–150 MB) from public content networks (jsDelivr and Hugging Face). That download is between your browser and those networks, governed by their own privacy policies. The model is then cached on your device by your browser.

Contact and waitlist forms

If you write to us or join the Pro waitlist, the details you submit (such as your name, email, and message) are sent to our form provider, Formspree, so we can receive and reply to them. We use those details only to respond, and we don’t sell them.

Cookies and tracking

We don’t run our own analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party cookies on this site. Your theme preference is stored in your own browser’s local storage and never sent to us.
